Loading logs for export in Seattle, 1969, The ILWU Story: Six Decades of Militant Unionism, International Longshore and Warehouse Union, 1997.

Logs have traditionally been one of the most dangerous cargoes to handle, and technological advances have not significantly changed that pattern. Worker's exposure to the dangers of loading logs has decreased, however, as trade policies and environmental protections contribute to a dramatic decline in the quantity exported.
